4. If prompted, connect the printer via USB.

Вообще с установкой драйвера в вашем случае проблем не должно быть, 7-ка способна в инете сама нужный найти.

так скольки битная у вас система? может вы 64-битной, 32-битный драйвер подсовываете?
И ещё, незнаю как в 7-ке а в XP в похожих ситуациях бывало помогало устанавливать драйвер не инсталятором а вручную, через Диспетчер устройств - обновить драйвер указываем путь к inf файликам, если таковых нету, их наверное как-то и из exe-шника можно даже выколупать если что.

разрядность системы в этом случае не влияет так как я дал ссылку на 32bit версию, 64bit windows с легкостью кушает 32bit программы и драйвера
